Vietnam focuses on cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence applications

Paris (VNA) - Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Bui Hoang Phuong led a Vietnamese delegation to attend the Artificial Intelligence Action Summit held in Paris from February 10 to 12. On this occasion, Deputy Minister Bui Hoang Phuong attended the 3rd Southeast Asia Business Forum and delivered a speech, and met with Laurent Saint-Martin, the Ministerial Representative for Foreign Trade and Overseas Chinese Affairs under the Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs of France.
The AI Action Summit attracted representatives from nearly 60 countries and regions as well as large technology groups, focusing on topics such as AI for public benefit, employment, investment, ethics and regulations. At the meeting, 60 countries signed a joint statement on AI, calling for the promotion of AI governance on a global scale to ensure the transparent, fair and sustainable development of the technology.
Vietnam's participation in the AI Action Summit demonstrates Vietnam's strong commitment to applying AI to economic and social development, and opens up many opportunities for Vietnam to cooperate with international partners, understand the latest development trends in AI, and effectively apply AI to important areas such as health care, education and digital economy. This is also a positive role played by Vietnam in the international AI field, and its commitment to a sustainable and humanistic AI future.
During the meeting, Bui Huang Fang and his delegation attended the Southeast Asian Business Forum hosted by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Bui Huang Fang delivered an important speech at the forum, in which he introduced Vietnam's advantages, such as political stability, the firm determination of Vietnamese leaders in promoting scientific and technological development, innovation and digital transformation, convenient geographical location, and the long-standing traditional friendly relations between Vietnam and France, which will not only help promote cooperation with France, but also contribute to promoting relations between ASEAN countries and France. Bui Huang Fang hopes that more French groups and companies will invest in Vietnam and even ASEAN in the future.
During the meeting, Laurent Saint-Martin, the French Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs, met with Bui Huang Fang and his delegation. He said that this visit is intended to open a new chapter in the development of the partnership between the two countries and further promote cooperation projects in many fields, especially in the fields of digital transformation, artificial intelligence, innovation and sustainable technology.
Bui Huang Fang said that Vietnam is establishing a legal framework related to artificial intelligence and data, and many state-owned and private enterprises are also interested in investing in this field, so France and Vietnam have many specific cooperation opportunities in this field.
The two sides agreed that now is a good time to focus on further strengthening cooperation in the fields of artificial intelligence and semiconductors, and lay the foundation for the two countries to formulate future strategic cooperation initiatives.
During his visit to France, Bui Huang Fang visited Vietnam's booth at the Artificial Intelligence Summit and visited the Vietnamese Embassy in France.
