VNA Hanoi - On the afternoon of the 11th, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a meeting at the Government Headquarters to promote scientific and technological innovation and development and high-quality human resources to boost economic growth.
In his speech at the beginning of the meeting, Pham Minh Chinh said that the Politburo of the Communist Party of Vietnam has issued Resolution No. 57 on breakthroughs in scientific and technological innovation and national digital transformation, and the country has organized the implementation of this resolution; the government has issued an action plan for the implementation of Resolution No. 57, which will help achieve the target of 8% GDP growth in 2025 and inject impetus into the country's double-digit growth in the future.
In the action plan, the government has proposed seven task forces and solutions and 140 tasks for various departments and localities to ensure the effective implementation of Resolution No. 57.
Fan Mingzheng believes that if you want to achieve growth, you need to improve labor productivity, and if you want to improve labor productivity, you need to promote scientific and technological innovation and high-quality human resources development. Therefore, it is necessary to have scientific and technological innovation solutions, promote digital transformation and high-quality human resources as a driving force, which is breakthrough and promotes the country's rapid and sustainable development.
Pham Minh Chinh suggested that the delegates focus on discussing and correctly evaluating the situation, recognize the difficulties, challenges, opportunities and successes, and try their best to exert their capabilities, turn opportunities into resources, and overcome the limitations and challenges that hinder the development of the country. In particular, they should propose institutional tasks and breakthrough solutions to maximize the mobilization of resources, infrastructure and human resources for the development of science and technology and innovation.
Pham Minh Chinh said that at the upcoming National Assembly meeting, the government will submit a resolution to the National Assembly to ease difficulties and obstacles for the development of scientific and technological innovation, and at the same time submit it to the meeting to be held in May 2025 for review and amendment of the Science and Technology Law. In this way, institutional difficulties can be solved, a market can be established for scientific and technological development, scientific and technological innovation can truly become a driving force for growth, transform the means of production, and achieve rapid and sustainable development.
Fan Mingzheng stressed that the development of scientific and technological innovation, digital transformation and high-quality human resources are not only the tasks of state agencies, research and training institutions, but all enterprises and people are involved.
